In the academic year 1995-1996 secondary school was closed and today it continues education and training as foreign language intensive high school and general high school.
Our school has had lots of achievements and successes since its foundation in Afyonkarahisar and also nation-wide.Many students graduated from our school have entered various universities so far. Every year at least 2 or 3 students from our school are among the most succesful 1000 students in the university enterance exam in Turkey. It has got many successes in the cultural and social fields. Two consecutive years, our handball team, winner in Afyonkarahisar, joined the knockout stage in Mersin and Isparta.
Both male and female folk dance team represented our school successfully in the knockout stage of the region. In the quiz show about the holy week the Prophet Muhammed born, our school -winner in Afyon- represented itself in Ankara in 1997.
In 1997, our school won a first place in the maths quiz show organised by Middle East Technical University. We believe that Fatih Anatolian High school will get many successes in the near future. Both male and female volleyball team got many successes. Our school was converted into Anatolian High School in 2010. Today there are 537 students ,43 teachers,1 principal and two assistantprincipal in our school. 65 percent of our students live in the city centre and the rest of them live in towns and villages or they stay at dormitories and stay with their relatives due to the difficulties in transportation and financial problems. As we take a look at the jobs of the students’ parents, 20 percent of them is civil servant, 30 percent of them is worker and 35 percent of them is freelancer. Our students’ parents working consists of 10 percent of women and 75 percent of men. 5 percent of them is university graduate, 30 percent of them high school graduate, 25 percent of them is secondary school graduate and 35 percent of them is primary school graduate. The rest 5 percent is the parents who quit school due to various reasons. This data shows us that the number of the parents who have low and middle income are more than the parents having high income.
